Leadership Roundtables: You Do A Lot. You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone.

Blue background with radiating lines of light, blue and gold, converging at a bright center. Futuristic and dynamic energy.

There’s a particular rhythm to late spring in independent schools. Celebrations arrive in quick succession—performances, graduations, final meetings—each meaningful, each demanding. If you have the energy, they can be joyful. If not, they can feel like one more thing to hold.

For Assistant Heads, Associate Heads, and Division Directors, this moment often carries an added weight.

The Thing Is, You Do a Lot.

You stand at the intersection of the school’s daily life and its long-term direction—supporting faculty and staff, guiding students and families, and working in close partnership with your Head of School. It is some of the most important work in a school. And some of the most complex.

It can also feel, at times, solitary.

But it doesn’t have to be.

With Leadership Roundtables – You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone.

Across the past six years, TheLeaderNetwork has brought together leaders in roles like yours—Assistant Heads, Associate Heads, and Division Directors—into small, thoughtfully designed leadership roundtables.

Eight people in circular frames on a blue background. Text on the right: "THE LEADER NETWORK" with a theme of "Renewal and Resilience."

These cohorts meet monthly in structured, facilitated conversations led by experienced former Heads of School and certified coaches, including Jim Best, Katherine Dinh, Ann Mellow, and Bernie Noe.

The conversations are grounded in the real work of leadership: navigating faculty dynamics, supporting a Head, managing change, and making decisions when there are no easy answers.

Participants often describe the experience in two ways: practical and sustaining.

There is the clarity that comes from hearing how others approach similar challenges. And there is the steadiness that comes from being in a room—virtual, but deeply human—where candor is expected, and generosity is the norm.

More than 80% of participants choose to return year after year. Not because it is another obligation, but because it becomes a place where they can think more clearly, lead more confidently, and feel less alone in the work.

Each participant also receives two complimentary one-hour coaching sessions, offering space for more focused reflection.

And because access matters, tuition is offered on a sliding scale—from free to $2,000—so that cost is never a barrier.

As this year comes to a close and you begin to look ahead to 2026–27, it may be worth asking:

What would it feel like to carry this work with others who understand it as deeply as you do?

If that question resonates, we would be glad to connect.

Sometimes, the most important shift is not in what you do next—but in who you do it with.
